Group Members Attend the Rank Prize Funds Symposium on Terahertz Technologies

Axel and Mike, along with group alumnus Hungyen, delivered a series of lectures at the prestigious Rank Prize Funds Symposium on Terahertz Emitters and Emerging Applications in Grasmere, UK. They were joined by leaders throughout the entire Terahertz field for a week of very productive seminars and meetings.

The symposium, held in the beautiful UK Lake District and hosted by Prof. Wilson Sibbett, CBE, FRS, FRSE, brought together the leading terahertz researchers from around the United Kingdom. The week-long meeting featured lectures with topics ranging from new terahertz emitters and detectors to the non-destructive characterization of water content in vegetation. Most importantly, the symposium encouraged conversations between participants, leading to free-flowing ideas and hopefully many potentially-productive collaborations.

One such event held during the meeting involved a hike to the top of Alcock Tarn in Grasmere. The views were spectacular and necessitated lots of picture taking!
