New paper published in Materials Horizons

Work on restricted intramolecular rotations of tetraphenylethylene was published in Materials Horizons, a new journal launched by the RSC earlier this year.

The work on restricted intramolecular rotations of tetraphenylethylene carried out by Nick and Ed, a former member of the group and now Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. This study was a collaboration with the Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and it was published in Materials Horizons (http://dx.doi.org/10.1039/c3mh00078h), a new journal launched by the RSC earlier this year.

The paper highlights experimental and computational terahertz spectra of tetraphenylethylene, an unusual fluorescent molecule, and provides the first direct evidence supporting the restriction of intramolecular rotations as a basis for the fluorescence.
