Conference presentations at 2014 APSGB UKPharmSci meeting

We presented two posters and a talk at this year's annual meeting of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Hertfordshire.

Both the poster on "Terahertz Spectroscopy: A New Tool for Predicting the Stability of Amorphous Drugs" by Juraj Sibik and Axel Zeitler in collaboration with Korbinian Loebmann and Thomas Rades from Copenhagen as well as the other poster "Intra-tablet Coating Uniformity of Various Pharmaceutical Tablet Shapes", which was selected for an additional oral presentation, were very well received.

Juraj's work had already attracted a lot of attention at the APV meeting in Lisbon earlier this year and we were able to discuss this work with more colleagues at this meeting.

The coating poster resulted from a collaboration with Bill Ketterhagen at Pfizer, Ben Freireich at Dow and Carl Wassgren with his PhD student Rahul Kumar at Purdue. Ke Su from our group measured the film coating thickness of a range of coated tablets and we compared the experimental results with a refined DEM/OpenGL model developed by our US collaborators.
